Radiant Skin Smoothie

Let’s be real, who isn’t looking for ways to up their glow. I have always been a believer that beauty starts from within. But if you’re like me, beautiful complexion hasn't always come easy.

One of my favorite remedies is rose.

Most of us have probably used rose topically, in our skin care products. It is often used because it is one of the highest sources of vitamin c - with one cup of organic rose petals being equivalent to 70 oranges worth of vitamin c! It also has a soothing, softening + calming effect on the skin. What a lot of us don’t know is that you can actually ingest rose and it has incredible benefits.

Rose is a prebiotic, meaning that it feeds the good bacteria in the gut. A healthy microbiome is essential for beautiful skin. In fact, if we’re experiencing any sort of skin imbalance, it is wise to look to the health of our gut to find the root of what is causing it.

Some other skin loving ingredients in this nourishing blend:

Papaya is loaded with skin boosting antioxidants. It’s also loaded with digestive enzymes, fiber and water, making it super amazing for the belly, and in turn, amazing for the skin. Specifically, papaya contains the proteolytic enzyme papain. Proteolytic enzymes are involved in the breakdown of proteins into bioavailable peptides and amino acids.

Raspberries are a low sugar, high fiber fruit, with 8g fiber per cup. In addition to their high fiber content, raspberries are also loaded with anti-aging antioxidants that nourish the skin.

Whether you choose to use sheep’s milk yogurt or coconut yogurt, both are filled with probiotics that your gut and skin love.

Cinnamon supports optimal circulation, essential for beautiful skin. Its antibacterial properties also fight bacteria related acne.
